Galapagos Extreme

Arrival to Baltra airport where Intisamay Tours staff will welcome you! He/she will carry you to your hotel located in Puerto Ayora. Before arriving to your hotel the first activity will be to Los Gemelos, a pair of craters located each in one side of the road, formed by collapse of the soil. In addition, you will have the opportunity to see the famous forest of Escalesia, an endemic plant of the Galapagos Islands and one of the favorites of the Finch birds. The next stop will be Las Primicias farm or El Chato; those places are famous because the giant tortoises prefer the high part of the islands. For them, the climate is humid and there is plenty of food and water. Nearby there is the Lava Tunnels, long time ago these tunnels where rivers of lava. After this last stop, we will go to our hotel to check in and enjoy our stay in this comfortable hotel.

Our day will be for enjoying the best experience in Galapagos doing snorkeling while seeing friendly animals, observe colorful fish and sea turtles. Continuing with the tour we will headed to the “Canal del Amor” (Love Channel) a place where nature leave us to admire its beauty. At the end of this channel, a few meters away we will be able to observe white tip sharks; after a short walk we will see marine iguanas in “the playa de los perros” ( Dogs’ beach) Punta Estrada-After the final visit will be Las Grietas, is great place for swimming and snorkel practice. It is form by two volcanic walls crossed by an arm of brackish water filtered from the top where it mixes with seawater. Finally, we will return to the dock. At the afternoon, we will go to Tortuga bay that is a beach for black turtle nesting. It is one of the longest beaches of white sand, great place for swimming, snorkeling kayaking or walking. White tip sharks, marine iguanas and sea turtles can be seen here. Then, we will be back to the hotel.

OPTION 1: SANTA FE (according availability or park regulations) This island has picturesque turquoise lagoon and calm waters where you can snorkel with sea lions, and see starfish, tropical fish, and manta rayas. Santa Fe is a small island of 24 km2; it is located in the central part of the archipelago, southeast of Santa Cruz. Geologically it is one of the oldest. Rocks were found that date about 4 million of years. Santa Fe Island keeps its hidden treasures; a walk along the beach will reveal the life of playful sea lions.   OPTION 2: ISABELA ISLAND (according availability or park regulations) Departure from Puerto Ayora to Isabela Island (Puerto Villamil) on board of a public speed boat, we will go to the wetlands each with a special attraction like lagoons, small beaches, lava tunnels. Then, we will head to the Breeding Center where we will be to see them from eggs to adolescence; this is one of the facilities of the Galapagos National Park. Before going back to Santa Cruz, we will go to Tintoreras Tour. This tour will depart from the pier to board a small boat authorized for this service, equipped with snorkel gear. We will visit a pond of white tip sharks as well as a variety of fish; during the crossing, we will observe sea lions and Galapagos penguins.

Depending of the flight schedule, at the morning, we will go to the Charles Darwin Research Station located in the eastern end of Puerto Ayora. There is an interpretation center where will learn about the breeding program of giant tortoises in captivity and repatriation. This is the best place to see many breeds of turtles Galapagos and to observe from the earliest age. This one is the main breeding center for tortoises and land iguanas from different islands were in danger of extinction.
